Greetings from Marathon On.
My husband and I are moving to the big city soon...can't wait to try out some new courses! We are from a small town 13 hours away, moving to Ottawa will be a big change for us! Looking forward to meeting people on here, and learning a thing or two about golfing in Ottawa area...

Enjoy Ottawa! If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

Welcome to this site. As you will soon learn, it is a big family with a big heart. Like all families there are a few black sheep, but they are treated kindly, and with a certain amount of bemusement.

Hey welcome, I am from Marathon, and now reside in the upper Ottawa Valley. You will enjoy the Golf down here, the season is longer, anywhere from mid Mar to mid Nov, you can find a place to play. Also if you look around there are lots of deals in the Ottawa Valley for the same or less than you pay in Marathon. Although you will miss your Stan Thompson designed course.
Good Luck

I'm working hard on my 12 step program........I still slip up from time to time.
Please accept my sincerest apologies akbain, we'd love for you and your hubby to join us for a couple forum day event
.....all we ask is that you remove the ball and chain from his ankle, most golf cart around these parts are electric and the extra weight from the ball burns the batteries out faster than normal

Just a suggestion but I think you better go back and review steps 1 to 3 again. Somehow I think you missed the points being made...
Even an Idiot like me knows that the ball and chain has been replaced by a nose ring for exactly the reason you gave, too heavy for a battery powered cart...Proud member of the 2009 OG/TGN Ryder Cup Champions

As you stated in another thread, ... 'I learned a long, Long, LONG time ago never to doubt or question the "powers" of the opposite sex' .... country, city, venus, mars.... they are all on the same wave length.....
Maybe they have decided not to move to Ottawa now just because of you!Proud member of the 2009 OG/TGN Ryder Cup Champions

My nightmares still consist of me running for my camera or trying to load film while the bride comes down the isle. Sometimes I have pants on.
Lame... after shooting over 1000 weddings and despite it being 14 years since my last wedding shoot, that is still my most common nightmare.
Not even the silliest, nor the williest of us can top that for panic inducing fear. Go figure.
I know some of you are thinking WTF is film? It was popular back in the old days.Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.
