What exactly needs to be done. Do you have the materials needed for the job? What are you offering for the job?

It's actually really easy to do yourelf and it's not worth the price that drywallers are charging. I got a quote for almost $2000 to just tape mud and sand on a 600 sq/ft basement. That's BS considering how easy it is to do. i did it all myself, I have never done it before, and it turn out great. Use the paper tape and the paper/steel corner beads. Don't be shy on the mud when taping. Scrape off the bigg bumbs on your second coat and fan your mud out each coat. Your third coat should be thinner and around 12 inches. Give it a good sanding, clea/paint and touch any spots that are not smooth. I brought in 3 drywallers for quotes and they all said because of my layout and only able to bring 8 feet sheets in the basement that I would not be able to have drywall flat/smooth ceiling because the seams would be visable. It's all done now and looks great, drywalled flat ceiling and all! Do it yourself an dsave the cash, even if it takes you longer. Started mine i the fall and din't finish until April.

Hence why your quote was so much. Don't forget these guys get paid by the job, and it's just not worth the time / effort required for the area you were requesting, and thats why it was better for you to do it yourself.
