ya its called B-Division. This is a great event for anyone considering entering, lots of fun and very well run. Getting to play it at Le Sorcier is an added bonus.

Matt and i left a few out there, but were happy with the result after a rough start. We actually got zero breaks today, but hung in there. Highlight of the day - Matt putting his tee shot just off the green on a 375 yard par four. And then I made our birdie from there!

A small pet peeve about this tournament - there have been the same 50 or so teams in the open division for weeks now... and the course has been booked for months... why wait til 10pm a day and a half before the tournament to release the tee times? Also, if you say the tee times will be up at 10pm, they should be up at 10pm

Just finished our round.. super dissapointed with our putting.. We played great tee to green but never made a putt outside 5 feet all day. We had it inside 10 feet for birdie on 7 holes on the back nine and made 1 (after missing the 12 footer for eagle)... Ended up 70 and won't be making the cut. Pins where is some tough spots but we just kept reading too much break in the putts..

Tee times are posted for Sunday. My teammate and I made the cut. My first cut in 3 attempts. Very happy right now.
Day did not start well as I was stung by a bee on the practice green. Boy that hurts. Was all uphill after that and we finished 6 under.

-4 here to make the cut. Man was it bad to start - up and down from 50 yards for par on the 1st hole, putt from the rough (not fringe!) for par on 2, 2 provisionals on 3 and end up having to chip out side ways from the trees (serious jail!) and made par, but settled in from there... never made a putt outside 10 feet and but really only missed 2 inside that would have been nice. All in all, pretty happy about scoring another round out of my entry fee.

Most people read too much break on the greens at Talon. I have to keep telling myself (and my partner) not to give too much break unless it's very obvious. We played in the senior open and finished at -10, tied for 1st going into Sunday. We didn't make many putts until the last 6 holes, 5 unders in the last 6 holes. Eagle Creek will be a different golf course and every team that makes the cut is still in it. I hope that we find our putting stroke early in the round compared to today's round.

Congrat to all who make the cut and have fun at the creek!

    Thom

-5 coming in at talon is good shooting - those holes were a real pain - long and tough in the wind. anyway you look at it, -10 is a wicked score but i wouldnt count out freda and blondin at eagle, they are long and they like the course.

Gotta say that this way my first try, but not my last, in this event and I was pretty blown away. Ton of fun without question. Found out very quickly how long 6800 yards plus wind plus wet fairways actually is! Wow!

As far as the experience went how do you think...

Tee off behind Koski and McGee / the Haimes (Kevin) and in front of Bernard and Foley. The two playing with them were very talented as well. Had a great chance to see how the big boys took on the holes and got to witness first hand just how deadly accurate Greg is with his irons....just sick. Add in the fact that we were paired with a guy with his name on his bag and yeah the pressure was on! You have no idea how happy I was to stripe a ball down the middle of the first hole...whew!

Another fun moment was made at my expense as Bernard and Greg had a good chuckle at my bright yellow shoes! Yeah I know! They're yellow! I know. I know. I know. lol

My partner Gerry and I will most probably practice harder and try to be in better shape next year. I have already added a hybrid for those crazy long par 3's! Finished a disappointing -1 with 5 birdies and 4 bogies...all 4 on those par 3's!

Thanks for a great event to all involved!

Nice running into you there Jay

It's been a long time since "the Cue" years but it seems like we've all moved on to a more "matured" sport, eh? My partner and I (another OG member) ended up winning the "senior" open division in a playoff. We finished at -16 and went to no.2 at the Creek for the sudden death playoff. We birdied the hole to win. It's our first time playing in the event and it's very well organized. I guess we have to be back next year to defend our title.

    See you around,

    Thom
