Shaft extensions?

Can someone tell me how I would use an aluminum shaft extension. I saw them at Golfworks and see that one extension is used for more than on club. Do you cut it in half and use it for 2 clubs? How do you get it to stay in the club, epoxy? If anyone has done this before please reply!
