Another Question G
I was discussing rules with a self-professed golf pig at work this morning (70+), And I was wondering if the Gary the golf guru guy could put to bed some urban legends (you know the ones-if everyone in your group agrees, a mulligan in a tourney is perfectly legal etc. etc. )
Tour pros are only allowed a certain no. of balls per round T F
You are not allowed to have two of the same club in your bag T F
The flag must be removed if putting on the green T F
PS In stroke play, the first player marks and removes his ball. The second player, while walking around the green, inadvertently walks over the 1st player's marker and it remains stuck to his shoe. What happens?
PS2 The first player above, while marking his ball, gives it a final tap w/ his putter and then proceeds to walk away w/ it still attached to his putter. What happens then??
I'll think of questions you've never even thought of before. :p

mulligan = never
certain number of balls: F
However, all Tour players play under this Local Rule: During a stipulated round, the balls a player uses must be of the same brand and type as detailed by a single entry on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls.
two of the same club: F
The only requirement is that each club conforms with the Rules.
If you wanted to, you could play with 14 identical putters or 7 right and 7 left.
removing flag: F
There is no requirement to remove the flagstick.
However, The player's ball shall not strike: The flagstick in the hole, unattended, when the ball has been played from the putting green. Penalty for breach of Rule 17-3: Match play — Loss of hole; Stroke play — Two strokes and the ball shall be played as it lies.
PS In stroke play, the first player marks and removes his ball. The second player, while walking around the green, inadvertently walks over the 1st player's marker and it remains stuck to his shoe. What happens?
The marker is replaced with no penalty to anyone.
RE: If a ball (includes marker) at rest is moved by an outside agency (includes fellow-competitor), the player shall incur no penalty and the ball shall be replaced before the player plays another stroke.
PS2 The first player above, while marking his ball, gives it a final tap w/ his putter and then proceeds to walk away w/ it still attached to his putter. What happens then??
The marker is replaced with no penalty to the player.
RE: If a ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved in the process of lifting the ball under a Rule or marking its position, the ball or the ball-marker shall be replaced. There is no penalty provided the movement of the ball or the ball-marker is directly attributable to the specific act of marking the position of or lifting the ball - Rule 20-1.
