Hybrid Loft Information
Could anyone educate me on the loft and approximate distances of the Hybrids out there?
I am looking at replacing my 3,4,5 irons with hybrids so essentially I will have from 6 iron up (and I only hit my 6 iron about 150 to 160 yards on a good day)
I am going to pickup TM R7 CGB Max Hybrids and they have them in (if memory serves me right) #1 (15°) #2 (19°) #3 (21°) #4 (23°) #5 (25°) but I only want to get 2 for the bag. I want to keep my 3,5,7 F/W in the bag.

In your Taylormade R7 setup the 3 iron has a loft of 19*, 4 iron 22*, 5 iron 25* and 6 has 28*. Normally the 7W will have a loft of 21*, same as the #3hybrid. So I would put in the #4 and #5 and take out 3-5 irons. Test them out on the course and see if that works for your game.
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Indio...just be careful...unlike what i did. I replaced my steel irons..my 3and4 with a 3 and 4 pair of hybrids...that were graphite shafted and longer in length.
This is a common scenario...we want to fill gaps with hybrids and most of my buds bought graphite..now that is not wrong per se..but the shafts are longer and the graphite also hits it further.
So i have a huge gap between my 5 iron and my 4 hybrid. Either get steel or be aware of the ramifications. Good luck.
ps...i hit my 5 iron..roughly 165...my 4 hogan hybrid...185."Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual"

One other option as well is to not think of numbers on the bottom and what fills gaps. You could buy a graphite shafted model and if buying two, get a #4 & #5 hybrid pair to replace your 3 and 4 irons.

moving on
Now that I'm back on my chair------ and not to highjack the thread.
I am not in the same league as Indio--but thinking of doing the same thing. Why---because I can't get consistant accuracy with my 3 and 4 iron--plus I can't hit my 3 wood off the fairway----off the tee no problem--actually starting to hit my Driver better as well. Would it be advantageous to go to a hybrid----in the store "it feels more comfortable" and would it give me more distance.
I realize there are a million variables here and it has taken me 5 years to actually be able to identify some of the small things that make a difference. After 13 games down here---the last two--- 91 and 90--slope 129/70.6 I feel I'm losing strokes because my second shots are short-------------even adding 1 club. This is the first year I have really noticed this and believe me----"when I hit my 3wood at home 210-220 and down here it consistantly ends up around 180----you reallly get to feel your age and those senior tees look pretty good"
Its so dead here there are not even any demo days---heading to Myrtle--so any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks guysDoes the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

What kind of ball are you using?? If you don't have the swing speed to properly compress a high compression ball you may be losing precious yards from that alone........

Yes Scott--those damm cart paths are everywhere Have not hit any yet but my ball seems to come to rest very close to them---sure get a lot of exercise here
As to your question about the ball try to use Tietilist SoLo or any Pinacle softee---try to stay away from the high compression stuff as they just magnify what I'm doing wrong.Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?
