Playing today
Teeing it up today boys and girls at 12:34 down here in sunny South West Ontario.
I had my new Mizuno MP-57's bent to my specs last night, so I am good to go! It might not be pretty, the grass might not be green but 9 holes at Pine Knot is open and that is good enough for me!

SUCK IT UP BOYS
It's not like the course was in Augusta condition! But hey it was golf
BTW, I had an email in my inbox when I got home stating another local course will be open tomorrow. I might have to go play that one too
Oh BTW, it was sunny and 14 C while I was on the course today. A bit breezy but no jacket required, just a light sweater over top the golf shirt. In fact I saw a couple of dudes wearing shorts!

Don't worry boys, I've played Pine Knot a few times. You were probably far more productive at work today and would've enjoyed it more I find that wearing Wal-Mart bags inside my golf shoes is very distracting...
Hope you had fun though!

Well I sure didn't need Walmart bags inside my shoes Scott. Maybe you should buy some new shoes that are waterproof
It was dry out there considering the time of year. Some casual water between 1 and 18 fairway in a low spot and that was it. I wore black pants and there was not one speck of mud on those pants. Nor did I have to clean off my shoes. So moisture was not an issue.
That course is built on an old tobacco farm, it is sandy soil. Drains well.
Plus some of you have to work, some of us are retired! Let me tell you I enjoy golfing at any time of the year over going into work at a full time job.

Haha...I remember early in the year it was kinda soggy when I played there, but that was 10ish years ago! Played there in the fall with the high school golf team in the same year and went 3wd, 4iron and sank a 75ft eagle putt on 14 is it? (Long par 5 with the mounds on the right hand side?)
Gives us some hope though (probably of being retired before I play golf lol)!Twitter: @Scott_Fally

Yep that is the one. Now how long it remains open is to be seen. Cooler temps this weekend and some rain the forecast might change their plans.
As for Pine Knot. I was actually quite surprised at how dry it was considering the time of year. I've played on courses when it was a lot wetter than that one was yesterday.
It just felt good being out there swinging.

Today is the day of my first round of golf since last October when I came down with tennis elbow. Leagues start practice rounds next week, I'll let everyone know how it went and if I'm giving up the game because of how it went .

Good luck. A friend and i slipped out on the day it warmed up unusually in toronto, a couple fridays ago and played real golf in burlington. My right arm and tennis elbow were fine. Then i went to a sim last friday, my friend was late so i hit balls...and hit...and hit..by the time he arrived and we played i must have hit the equivalent of several large buckets...and off fake turf, not ground that gives.
As i sit here today it is so weak and sore i regret it.
I could have been out this past wknd or this week, nice and warm here, but i could not.
Make sure you do your stretches for hands and forearm/elbow and take it easy, maybe take an anti-inflamatory before and good luck. Don't hurt it again, i can symphathize with the weakness and pain."Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual"

Tendenitis is a real pain in the ......well arm at least. It took me over three months to get over it but I was still practicing with a sand wedge the whole time. The bad thing is after I was without pain for 2 weeks either in my arm or knee I go and hurt myself at work with a sprained rotor cuff . luckily it was only a sprain and not a tear so I was back at near 100% after about 10 days but let me tell you those were some painful days. I started swinging the wedge after the 5th day even though I could only hit to about 25 yards the first day, 17 yards the first 25 swings. I felt better on the next day and was out there hitting out to 50 yards, the third day I was out to 75 yards and the 4th day I got to about 85 percent although I learned not to extend on the follow thru cause that hurt quite a bit. The doctor told me that I basically cured myself by doing those exercises and motions besides the ones the physical therapist gave me to do. I'll know better today and someone gave me a 4 iron hybrid to try out also so I'll probably sneak a couple extra swings with it if it's not busy on the course .
