    Local service: Cleaning clubs ?

    Hello ,

I was wondering if there is a cleaning service for golf clubs ?

Last year, did the cleaning myself with the guide @ golf.about.com
The result are ok but I want to bring back to life

    Thanks!

I have never found a problem with the old soap and water! Cleaning the heads are a no brainer, use an old toothbrush. For the grips, I just use an old towel with the soap and water, really scrub them good and mine always come out nice and tacky feeling. If you want, you can throw a little de-greaser in the water to get rid of the oil from your hands. I wouldn't throw too much as I don't know if it would damage the rubber, but I just throw a little in there and most of my grips last nearly 2 years, and I am a 'death grip golfer' with cord grips.

People clean their clubs? Amazing. With the exception of the grooves and the grips, I thought that they deserved all the dings, dents, and damage that befits these instruments of psychological torture.

Never heard of a service...I just use soap and water on the grips once a year. They get washed when I am playing in the rain or if I walk past a puddle....

I use dish soap on the grips - gets all the dirt and oils off the grips - nice and tacky after. The heads its the same - I use a brush (copper tipped) on the course to keep the grooves clean. I've always been meticulous about keeping the grooves dirt free ......

Don't give me that crap, you don't keep a club long enough to get it dirty!

My wife and I have an annual sad ritual after the last round of the year usually first weekend in November. We scrub and wash all of the club heads in the kitchen sink while drinking our sorrows away. We then store them in the basement.

On the plus side I just put my clubs in my trunk in anticipation to going to the indoor range on Hunt Club soon.
