Thumbs up Federal Government CR-04 Collective Staffing Process - EXTERNAL ADVERTISED PROCESS

There have been a few folks lately wondering how they can get their foot in the door.....well this just came across my desk.....Please note the very limited timing of this competition!!

We are pleased to inform you of an upcoming collective staffing process that will be advertised on:

February 18th only - CR-04 group External posting (general public)

Please visit www.jobs-emplois.gc.ca on February 18, 2009 for the statement of merit criteria and instructions on how to apply.

It is important to note that this posting will only be for one day.

Let me know if I can be of any help

Thanks for posting this. When I hit the website, I see a "Search for Jobs" button. How is the CR-04 number used? Is it used as additional search criteria, and if so, where?

    Thanks,
    Frank

The CR designation is for 'clerical' work, so under the 'job category' criteria you would click on 'clerical and secretarial'. Here's the link for the competition Hacker posted.

CR-04 are a great way to get in. I work with several people who are all now CS's but were able to get in as a CR. Once you are in and if you have the education is gets alot easier to get to another position!

Thank you to all for this info.My daughter in-law has been trying to get in for the past 6 months and she is getting discouraged. After trying out for numerous jobs, nothing is happening. This is a bright young girl finishing up her Maters degree in social politics and she cant get a job at the lowest entry level.Any info that you can pass on will be much appreciated by us.
    Thanks again.

Anyone looking to get their kids in, have them do a co-op term. Once they've done a term or worked for th egovernment as a student they can be bridged in later on, up to 18 months after they've left.
Lots of yoga pants these days, not enough Yoga!

Thanks a lot for the heads up. I'll definitely have to be creative for the essential experience, but I can't afford to miss an opportunity with that many openings.
