Not sure if it was the worst in 10 yesr but it sure as hell has me scratching my bald spot! 6 minuts and a miscoduct for that hit? Any bets there is a suspension from the league as well?

Ya have to tip your hat to the boys.....they've really stuck together and busted their asses tonight!!
Is it just me or is Spezza playing better than he has all year??

Well, I've never heard of a triple minor, but i suppose it's possible. What baffles me is that misconduct. Ya, give him a 5 minute major and a 10 minute misconduct if you thought he hit from behind. But 6 and 10? I guarantee you that's an NHL first. And, how does Katano get nothing for dropping the gloves? He started the fight!
And yes, Spezza is playing well, but not nearly as well as a TSN Broadcast would have you think. With Pierre McQuire, everyone on the team is either playing their best hockey in years, or their worst hockey in years. Tonight, apparently, the Sens were worthy of the 72 Canadiens.

ya i thought Spezza has been playing better of late and the boys are playing real well. I think they won more down low 1 on 1 battles in this game then they did in the first 42 games combined. I really like the teamwork and enjoy how Clouston is going to the guys that put the effort and rewarding them on the PP, like Foligno and Shannon.
On the flip side, Heatley seemed to be floating around whenever I did notice him on the ice and seemed to be a complete non-factor. Methinks that he is not fitting in well with the new system. He logged a meager 12min compared to the 20min, 17 and 18 for Alfie, Foligno and Spezz respectively. I know he doesn't play the PK so that hurt his minutes. He just seems to be in a rut to me, 1 assist in his last 4 games and 3 points in his last 8. He is not exhibiting that hard work ethic that I seem to be seeing out of everyother player on the team, surprisingly even from Spezza...
I know its only been 4 games but if it continues, maybe they can afford to trade Heatley for a Off-dman or goalie?

an article in the citizen stated that the sens were out of shape. Clouston couldn't believe that they couldn't keep up with the pace of his practices. Now, Murray is saying he didn't like the dogging that was going on under Paddock and Hartsburg.

It seems to be apparent that Heatley and Clouston can't see eye to eye right now but they had better get on the same page since Heatley has a no-trade clause. Do you really want to trade a back-to-back 50 goal man? I don't, but if we have to we had better get a top D man like Bowmeester.

well another good game for the Sens, not a high octane game like the last few, but a good effort considering it was the 2nd in two nights. Heatley had a big game with 2 goals, exactly how I thought I would have to eat my words after saying he just isn't playing well and is expendable!

That was a super solid effort for the second game in two nights.........glad to see Heater have a good one. Hopefully he can keep it going

I always thought they were out of shape. They looked like a team that had to expend all they had just to play catch up. Too bad its too late now. If they had figured this out a month ago they might have had a shot to get in to the playoffs. Given how much they dogged it in the first half they'd be the freshest team in the post season!

If thats all it is ( which I do not believe ) but Elliott is helping and a solid D man pick-up in the off-season would help we could be a contender again next year.

I think we are living in reverso world or something......Sens on a winning Streak and Boston and the San Jose on losing streaks - What's up with that??

at least Sens and Leaf fans finally have something in common. The Sens are pulling a 'leaf-like' finish to the season. Play terrible for 2/3 of the season, then play good when there is no hope of the playoffs so that fans can 'dare to dream' that next year will be OUR year.... all the while comfortably getting the team out of the draft lottery!!!

I really think it has a lot to do with the forechecking system. Under Hartsburg, the opposing teams' breakout was basically a drill. The Sens' team speed (which isn't outstanding but is still ok) was negated because the other team would fly past them at top speed through the neutral zone. Add to that a slower-than-normal D, and now we're exposed. With the improved forecheck, the other teams can't get out of their zone as easily as before, and it make our D able to either stand up in the neutral zone, or at least be able to handle a slower-than-before opposing team rush.
