How early in the year do Ottawa courses open?

Hi,

Being new to golf, I never paid attention to this before.
But.....
When do courses open in the Ottawa area?
I know last year we had snow till about the 15th of April but normally Ottawa could be snow free in early March (based on number from Environment Canada).

Do courses open as early as April 1st? Is March even an option?

I think I played Stonebridge around the 25th of April last year but everyone said it was a very late start.

It really is up to Mother Nature.... there have been years when we have played as early as the 3rd week in March and as late as the 3rd week in April..... hioefully Mother Nature gives us a break this year.

Usually late March or early April for the first courses to open. By April 15 there should be many to choose from, and by end of April all should be open.

We will, as usual, run a Spring Openings calendar and keep it up to date.

Not sure about March this year but start of April for sure if you dont mind going out of town a bit(Callabogie,Perth,etc....)

I played Dragonfly April 18th last year.

I played my first at Dragonfly last year as well. I thought it was earlier than the 18th however. I recall the place was double booked due to computer error/delay.

As I recall my wife had to hit a ball out of a snow drift. I told her to hit it like a sand shot but half strength - she put it within inches of the hole.

The 18th was a Friday and if I remember correctly it was opening day, but the par 3 13th or 14th had snow all around it. It was a fabulous sick day!!!!!!!!

Regardless of when it is, it won't be soon enough for me I'm starting to get the golf-itch something horrible!

Funny man Of course! But people look at me funny when I'm constantly rubbing it on my palms. Golf clubs seem more socially acceptable for some reason!
