Video Card Problems - Need some advice
So, I have an HP m7330n PC with a socket 939 4200+ dual core CPU and 1GIG of DDR RAM. The PC is running Vista home premium, and I have had an ATI X1600XT in there, and everything has been running fine.
Recently I obtained an ATI 4850HD video card and replaced the X1600 card with this one. Instead of things getting faster, they have gotten a lot slower.
I tried the 4850HD in another PC and it is working fine. I have tried un-installing and deleting all of the drivers and then installing the latest drivers from ATI, and still no lock.
I also have an ATI Radeon 2400HD, which I slipped into the PC. With the 2400HD, everything was fine again. So it would appear my PC is not liking the 4850HD much!
I have upgraded the power supply for the PC to a 650Watt unit, thinking the video card might not be getting enough juice from the stock power supply, and still no luck!!!
I am confused and not sure what to do next?????Proud member of the 2009 Ryder Cup winning team

Did you use a Driver Cleaner to uninstall the old driver in safe mode?

1G of RAM is low for Vista.
Check your memory/pagfile usage in the task manager. It may be that the new video card has enabled some new driver features that are using more RAM and you are now starting to page like crazy. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Looking at the specs on the PC, you don't have a CF enabled board, but could the driver settings somehow have CF enabled slowing everything down? I would imagine this is a long-shot.
Let's put a Smile on that Face!
