The owners were talking retirement when we were there last year. The place was up for sale. Too bad, it was a wonderful place with two great people!

i agree, i stayed there the first year and they were very pleasant people, I really enjoyed it there.

haha, nah it wasn't that, i loved it! It was the eggs on english muffin that wasn't my cup of tea... haven't had an egg since I was 5!

Isn't it premature to be booking these rooms before the captain actually picks the team? You wouldn't want to be the Ottawa Golf equivalent of Darren Clarke. And that would make Geoff, Nick Faldo. Forget it. I don't like that analogy.

As our captain did last year, you can block off a number of rooms ahead of time and they will give you a deadline as to when you have to confirm 100%. I think it was something like 2 weeks before.

It's easier to book and cancel than it is to wait until it's too late. We need to get ahead of the tractor pull crowd

Geoff/Scott,

Have you guys considered asking them to setup something in their 'tournament' facility beside the club house for everyone to mingle, have a few 'pop' and a bit to eat after our Saturday round? It might be better than trying to shoe horn everyone into East Side Mario's??

Just some food for thought.....

I'll start, depending on my Club Championship and other club tourneys, the weekend may not work for me.

And Bob, as for your idea, not sure if that would work. Seeing as how we usually complete our round later in the day on Sat, the course would probably have to hire extra staff or pay their staff more to stay later. Or there may even be a fee to reserve the banquet area/facility. We could always look into it though.

Given the work schedule this year August is definitely less convenient for me than May, but I wouldn't expect any issue making it.

Geoff - if you can't make the August date, are we going to look for another weekend?

Not sure. I don't want my availability to hinder most of the guy's participation in the event. If only a few guys from each team can't make it, it's not too bad. But if we start getting 7 or 8 guys per side not being able to make this weekend, we'll have to figure something out. My only other suggestion would be to change the venue, but keep it in the Belleville area.
