I got the email about when they wer ein town and deleted it, now I'm told my grandfather wants a ball retriever for Xmas. Anyone keep the email? Any mention of them and when are they here? This weekend? The usual location on Carling? Thanks.

I wouldn't drive any distance to go. Went to the last one the had there and it was worse then the deals at the golf show.

Having been to a couple of these 'liquidator' sales I can say unless you are looking for a $5 glove or some cheap distance balls I would not bother.
There are usually a few OEM clubs as well, but most of them are at least 3-4 years old.

I had an appointment closeby and dropped in to see.
lots of shirts (Firethorne, Antigua and couple others) for $10 each

64' umbrella with wind flap for $15
some golf pride grips for $3 and the usual cheap stuff as well

for some it would be good
for others who want name brand clubs need not bother

I went on the first day as it was close by. Like others said, lots of clothes, but club selection was minimal.

I ended up buying a cheap set (3-PW irons/2 woods/1 driver) for $100 just to keep as (another) backup set (I have lots of friends who golf but don't have clubs).

Not really worth the drive though if you're coming from far.

There are at least 3 different Golf Liquidators going from town to town in this area. We had two separate ones within a week set up shop here in Hawkesbury.

Glad you liked it Bogey. I think it is one of the best kept secrets in Eastern Ontario
We'll have to play it next year. Although I am not a member there and usually play at La Cite, I usually make a point of playing at the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling at least once a year.

You certainly do have some hidden gems in Hawkesbury. Not a member there either, but they let myself and leftylucas on. We wanted to play La Cite as it looked nice as well, but they were closing for the season. Next year we will play both for sure. You enjoy La Cite? It is nice?

I love La Cite. It's certainly not as long or as difficult as the HGC but for a completely public course and for the price it is pretty hard to beat.

I will say, that of the Liquidators sales I've been to, the folks at the Embassy West were a considerable improvement over the others. There were some decent deals there the last time I went.

I was out to see the guys at the Best Western when they were here in Sept. And selected a decent cheap Orlimar Driver that happened to match my "magic" 7-wood. It was $299, on for $69.
Went to the range the next day and on the 5th ball, the face cracked/caved in. Expecting it wasn't just from my dedicated-work-out-program
I took it back on last Thursday. They were more than happy to give me a full credit towards anything. I picked up another Orlimar Driver (not identical) & a pair of Callaway shoes for a $9.00 Splurge.

Went out to the one at the Embassy West on Carling.

Not very much stuff, a lot of that NF brand stuff, must be the same people who ran the show at the Sportsplex a few months back as I recognized some of the same faces. Hockey equipment, clothes, and golf clubs.

Nothing really stood out for me, and I bought the same things I bought at the one in Bells Corners less than 2 days ago for twice as much

Not too impressed..but a decent way to kill part of a day
