Penaly ? Why ?
Player on a 'strange' course pulls his drive 200+ yards round a dogleg. His FC (a member of the club) makes no comment.
When the player reaches the scene he realises his ball is OB. He turns to his FC showing his irritation with his failure to warn him of the problem round the corner. His FC simply shrugs.
Rather upset, the player turns back towards the tee. On the way he takes a ball out of his pocket and taking his frustration out on the ball proceeds to knock it one handed 40 yards at a time all the way back to the tee.
Is there a penalty? If not, why not ? If so, under which rule and what is it?

That would mean he must count every whack , more penalties for teeing the ball again then playing out the hole .....just imagine his score lol
Would he avoid the serious breach DQ because he played AWAY from the direction of play ?
I dont think the wrong place penalty would apply as the ball isnt in play

20-4. When Ball Dropped or Placed Is in Play
A substituted ball becomes the ball in play when it has been dropped or placed.
