.350 Hosel size options...
Hey guys, i'm grabbing a couple of Bobby Jones hybrids to work on over the winter and just found out they are a .350 tip hybrid which limits my hybrid shaft options as I find most of the good ones are a .370. Is there a shim for this difference or do I need a clubmaker to bore the hosel out on the hybrids to accept a .370 shaft?

You need to bore it out. Shims are only for putting smaller diameter shafts into larger diameter hosels.
Another option is to use a .335 FWY shaft and use a shim to fit it into the .350 hosel. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

What brand of shaft are you looking at John?

Primarily the Ozik's or the Fuji's.

Matrix Studio hybrids (65 & 85g) are available in .335, and you could hook those up with a "clocking" ferrule that will fit the .350 hosel, so you can mess with the face/lie angle a bit. Definitely an alternative to the reaming option. That being said, reaming 10 thou (.25mm, or about the thickness of 3 sheets of paper) off the inside of the hosel should be no problem for a clubmaker with the right tools.

That's what I was wondering, will it weaken the hosel?

I'm gonna say it shouldn't, but there's no guarantees. It depends on the OD of the hosel in question combined with the material it's made of (I'm guessing that BJ's are some type of stainless). A guy like Don at Artisan should be able to answer that for you, and also do the reaming job too.

Yeah after talking to Don at Artisan golf i'm just going to do one of the above. There's some good hybrid shafts out there.
