    Scotty preservation

My wife gave me a brand new SS Newport 2.5 and I used it for the first time today. The greens were just punched and sanded so I was careful not to let the sand scratch the bottom. Anyone use some kind of transparent protector on the bottom? I'm considering using those protective screen covers for iPhones and touchphones.

    It's a putter, don't sweat it.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I wouldn't bother, stainless putters like yours are near bullet proof. Just make sure the ball is clean when you putt, and that will keep the face from getting marked up. Swirl marks on the sole from use are normal.

That's exactly what I want to avoid. Thanks for the info on the NP2 series. Mine has 2 20gm weights on the bottom but the shaft sticker doesn't state the head weight.

Put some scotch tape on it, or don't use it on sandy greens. If you're that worried about it, the sole is already polished stainless steel and can be buffed back to original pretty easily.

    2x20g weights is a 360g head.
