    Golf Channel HD

    Let's hope we get the golf channel on HD soon as I noticed today that Speed TV has now got an HD channel available here. With the GC covering more full broadcasts of PGA tournaments it would be great to get their HD coverage here.

    No plans yet that I know of.

    They might start showing the HD golf on TSN2 though.
    Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

    In Gord Holder's blog 'Par for the Course' (Ottawa Citizen) on Oct. 13 he indicated that the Golf Channel had announced it's HD entry into Canada for December. However, there were no details as to which, if any, cable companies would pick it up or if there would be any additional cost. The notice is as follows:

    "By the way, Monday's news release included a reminder of the launch of Golf Channel HD starting in December. Might want to call your cable company about that one.... Just a thought."

    Just talked to our service provider (Shaw Cable) and am very happy that they told me they will provide the Golf Channel in HD starting December. They said it would be free as a preview for awhile, but the HD package we already have includes this new addition.

    Can't wait!

    Hi,

    Just a followup to the this post.
    Has anyone heard about the golf channel being available in HD.
    There was talk of December. I hope it meant December 2008.



    Rogers told me they don't know anything about it.
    I hope others have better news.

    Well, that's encouraging, but Shaw is not available in Ontario. Hopefully Rogers won't be far behind.

    Actually I just talked with Shaw. Their launch is Dec 9th and on Channel 224....yeah me!!
    You should call Rogers, they should be able to help you.

    Is 224 really the Golf Channel in HD? Did it start today?

    I think you are in the clear.
    I was reading a posting in a digital forum and people are saying that Golf HD (GOLFD) is availble on 224 in High Def.

    This thread has me confused. There is no Shaw cable in Ontario is there? What about the satellite providers?

    Shaw is mostly a western Canada cable provider.
    They are available in NW Ontario (Thunder Bay area).

    They introduced GOLF HD today.

    No idea if Rogers or Bell plan to do the same.
