    Ball in Motion - Deflected

    Club Match Play Championship
    Semi Final Matches - A vs B, C vs D
Both matches are being played in one group of four.

A and C are putting for birdies in their respective matches. C is farther from the hole than A. C and A putt simultaneously and A's ball strikes C's ball. A's ball is holed while C's ball comes to rest several feet away.

    What is the ruling? Why?

This is a good question that only BC could have happen to him.

As A & B are competing against each other and C & D are against each other they would be considered outside agencies to each others match. Even though C is farther away from the hole than A and they are separate matches when the balls hit they are each being hit by an outside agency and from Rule 19-1 b they must be replaced and replayed and hopefully not at the same time the second time around.

That's my take on on it.

AAA, no one had responded so I thought I'd see if my answer got any responses. What's your take on this one as I don't think many others will give it a go?????

    May I digress?

This, then, is one of the few occasions where a ball holed does not count in determining a golfer's score, and must be replayed. What are the others? (No RO's, svp)
