Auto GPS
Looking for a basic GPS unit with US and Canadian maps. Don't want to spend a fortune. If you are upgrading and have a decent basic unit to sell please let me know.

Check usedottawa and kijiji. Tons of them on there for decent prices. Of course you have to be more careful there, because they aren't as nice and honest as the OG folks.

I have this one and highly recommend it and would recommend Garmin in general based on the ease of use of the interface:

The widescreen is nice. For $179 you can't go wrong. I paid $249 last christmas on sale from $300.I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Keep your eyes on the Dell Days of Deals sale next week. Usually they have a Garmin or Tom Tom unit up on the sale and generally they're at a pretty good price. Free shipping helps too.

Thanks for the tips so far guys. I have been checking on kijiji and Used Ottawa however I would much rather deal with the good honest folks of OG

I have a Magellan 4210 and am really happy with it. My cousin has a Garmin, and I don't really see a difference between the two. The interface is different, but that's about it. Maybe I just don't know enough about them, but why are Garmins considered the best?

the best is somewhat a personal opinion, but ease of use is usually the reason.

Garmin is usually cited as having the best routing engine.

I bought a referb. Garmin Nuvi 350 from tigerdirect a couple of weeks ago for 169.00$ The unit itself looks cosmetically brand new. It is not widescreen but does give street names when giving out directions which is nice.
