    John Holes the ball

John is playing and hits a high flop shot from about 20 yards out.... it bounces twice and rolls into the hole... He celebrates with a big cheer and a fist pump and as he walks up to the green to retrieve his ball from the bottom of the cup, a good sized bullfrog jumps out of the hole and the ball having been on its back comes out and sits on the green by the edge of the hole?

    Now what???

Are you sure about that Gerry?

    Holed
A ball is “holed” when it is at rest within the circumference of
the hole and all of it is below the level of the lip of the hole.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

John if the frog was still alive the ball would probably have never come to rest and depending on the size of the frog the ball may have never totally gotten below the lip of the hole.

But usually the frogs are pretty motionless until you go right up to them and they jump away.

If you can't see the ball then it's certainly below the lip of the hole.

But as soon as the ball hits him I'm sure he won't remain motionless.

From 20 yds away I'd be virtually certain, from 50 yds I'd be sure and from 100 yds I wouldn't care but 99 yds I'd be hoping it had come to rest.

Whew!! For a moment there, I actually thought you guys were serious and was going to throw 1-4 at you. I guess that you don't have to be crazy to play golf, but it sure helps.
