shaft lengths on old Wilson blades

Does anyone know the original standard club lengths and lofts for 1989 Wilson Staff Fluidfeel irons
3 to PW I bought a used set with Sensicore S300 shafts but the 7 to PW lengths seem quite short and the lofts quite upright. Perhaps they are normal for those days but it would be good to know!

Should the shafts have a fairly standard shortening as the club lofts go up, such as a more modern set?

What do the plug colors mean in the base of the club head? Mine are red on all but the PW is black.

    Thanks in advance!

I believe all of the Wilson Staff Fluid Feels from the 80s have the same specs as the Staff FG-17s. If so the standard measurements would be as follows. In order of loft, lie and length.

    2 20* 57 39"
    3 23 58 38.5
    4 26 59 38
    5 30 60 37.5
    6 34 60.5 37
    7 38 61 36.5
    8 42 62 36
    9 46 62.5 35.5
    w 50 63 35
    SW 55 64 35.5

I have an e-mail into a friend who is an old blade expert to verify this. Will post a follow up to verify the measurements as soon as he gets back to me, but these should certainly be in the ballpark. About 1/4-1/2" inch shorter than modern standards, weaker lofts and pretty standard lies. They may seem a hair upright due to the weaker lofts and shorter lengths.
    Great sticks BTW,,,

    Hi Freddie:

Unfortunately all I could confirm today was that the specs I listed above are valid for the early and mid 80s Wilson Fluid Feels. Not completely sure that they are the same for the 89s. As far as length goes the 89s are either the shaft lengths listed above or 1/4" longer than that throughout the set. If your Wilsons match the lengths listed above or 1/4" longer, then they are probably at their standard lengths. If they are shorter then they have definitely been cut down. If I come across some info related directly to the 89s I will let you know.
