So close to filling this up. Only 7 spots left. C'mon, for some this could be a great year ending event.

Side note: Played nine holes this morning. The course is drying out and starting to play fast again. Greens are firming up, but this rain should soften them back up.

Glad to have you aboard. And I'm sure if you ask nicely, all your fellow OGers that day will protect you from your wife.

And with that being said, only 6 spot remain.

Another addition, so tentatively only 5 spots left. No time to sit back and think about it, it's filling up fast.

Craig, if you check page three (second posting, I believe) it's got all the details. The date has been set, we're playing Sept 20th.

Only 4 (possibly 5) spots left. Once they are filled, I will create a waiting list. As usual, there's bound to be last minute cancellations.

You might want to wait until closer to the date in case of cancellations, i.e., if a scratch golfer cancels and the next person from the waiting list is 20-capper...

The pairings are done and will be posted tomorrow morning. It looks like we've got some good and balanced teams. It should be fun.

Before I post the pairings, which could influence the decision, does anyone want to do skins?

Birdies and eagles only, pars can't win you a skin. And I was just going to take the strokes allotted off of the final scores of the groups, but if we do skins we'll have to do net skins and allot strokes on the appropriate holes.

    Thoughts?

I agree, and I would even go so far as to say that the prizes seem a little hefty for a fun day. Anyone else think a $170 cash prize for first place is a little too much coin? In my experience scramble tournaments with a significant prize for the winner just invites trouble, and we don't need that.

Maybe we should take some of the $10 registration money and have CTP's and longest drive prizes too? Spread the money around a bit more?

Since the teams are balanced anyway, just do the skins straight up. It's best ball scramble, so it will already be a team effort for birdie or eagle.

I am with you on this.
    No to the skins.
    Cut the prize money some.
Add, closest to the pin, longest drive and longest putt made.

Jeez louise guys, Geoff has gone to a lot of trouble all ready, just let his format be for this year and after the scramble offer suggestions for next year.

Just so you know, high cappers have little chance at closest to teh pin or long drive, so there. A team prize is a great idea.

Anyone can win a CTP. I won plenty on the OG Tour (now the NCGT) when my handicap was 25...

...and there's nothing wrong with trying to do things right the first time. People do strange things when money is involved, and I'm sure Geoff would rather not have to deal with those issues.

I am game for whatever the prize money is (not that I will see any of it... )

I like the idea of CTP's as well, as this is easy, not complicated with handicaps, etc....
