Question Where to drop when water hazard...

Q1: If ball drops in the water, where can I drop & how far can I drop ?
Q2: If ball drops in the water on the far right side, where to drop ?

Q3: If ball hits a rock & lands in the water, where to drop ?
Q4: If ball gets stuck between rocks, what to do ?

    My guess:
Q1,Q2 & Q3- Take 1 penalty and the drop zone would be 2 clubs at the edge of the rough.
Q4- Take 1 penalty & put it on the fringe

    a) Are there any red or yellow lines or stakes ?
    b) What does the Local Rule say about the margins of the hazard ?
    c) Does the LR mention the rocks ?

I took the picture randomly from the internet.

I guess what you are saying is that each course has their own rules about hazard ?

I think what AAA was getting at was that each course can define the boundaries of the water hazard differently.

Some courses might yellow stake that hazard (normal water hazard). Others might red stake it (lateral water hazard). Some may include the rocks as being inside the margin of the hazard, others may not. Those that do not may have local rules in place guiding the player on what procedure to follow should the ball end up in the rocks, or deflect into the hazard off of them. In each case, there is a different set of rules that must be followed.

In other words, too many variables to just look at the picture and say 'do X'.

When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.
