How do you mark your ball?
Inspired by the discussion in the Rules forum and that cheezy Titleist commercial, how do you mark your ball?
I use a blue sharpie and cover up the numbers on my ball with a big blue dot. Not only does this help identify my ball, but it's a great indicator of how well (or not) I have hit the ball.
I always tee up my ball with one of the dots placed where the club would normally hit the ball thus leaving a mark on the clubface. It's a very good visual aid to tell you how far off center you have hit the ball. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I draw a green line through the brand name.
And I use the marker ink on the clubface trick, too.Sucking at golf is it's own reward.

I usually fire a drive off a cart path or tree to put a mark on the ball. Sharpies are expensive.

I use a check-go spinner and put a blue or black line all the way around the ball. I too use the ink on clubface trick to see where I'm hitting the ball. I think the spinner really helps, because my ball always rolls perfectly straight (past the hole...)

me too
I do the same Snowman but I also add a couple of L's beside the Titleist logo for Lefty Lucas. Its not enough to put a line on the ball anymore for ID purposes.

I use mostly balls that I find in the trees and ponds. It's weird, but most of them are already marked with a big GLJ on the top and a big 69 on the bottom. So that's what I use.

I put 2 circles around the ball number, If I want to see where I'm hitting on the club face I'll just move the ball around till the markings are going to get struck first and surprise!!!! little bullseyes on the toe, heel and hosel of the club

I use a red sharpie to put my initials over the ball's model name. So If you ever find a ball in the woods with "PMO" on it; that's me and not someone from the Prime Minister's Office

I use the Check-Go Ball Liner (not the more expensive spinner). Draw a black line through the secondary name / logo ----Ultimate---_ and use it line up my tee shots and putts. Never seen anyone else do this so never saw the need for initials. Guess there are not that many Top Flight fans out there. Never thought of using a mark to see where it hits the face of the club ... thanks... learn something new every day... can I go to bed now?

Just draw a nice "Cheater Line" on the seam line and then put a black dot under each number

I fill in 3 'dimples'. One one each side of the number and one below the number, in blue

I keep staring at the tree closest to where the ball entered the woods.......

a big red "JT" on the side of the ball....I was thinking of changing it to something more generic so I can deny losing any balls

Usually, I try to just know what ball I am playing, and make it land in the short stuff.....
but sometimes I take a Red permanent marker that I found kicking around and draw a random sloppy squiggle on a ball that I'm about to give to a friend, so that they can tell it apart when they are looking for theirs in the woods.
