    NYC golf recommendations

I will be in NYC at the end of August for 6 days; one of which I will be golfing.

Apart from the obvious Bethpage recommendation, anybody have other recommendations for NYC? Needs to be accessible by public transport as we are flying in and we are not planning on renting a car.

I will try my best to get on Bethpage Black but I may not be able to get a decent tee-time... I could always play the Red or one of their other courses but I want to keep my options open for something other than Bethpage.

    Let me know your suggestions.

    Thanks

    LBH

Also, here's a link to a comprehensive list of courses for New York City and Long Island, grouped according to areas within the city: http://1stop4golf.com/GolfCourses.asp?region=WR

You can get to Bethpage by using the Long Island city train from Penn Station (right next to Madison Square Garden), For the other ones, I would need to rent a car

    Thanks mpare

I'd highly recommend Bethpage as well. There's actually five courses there, no need to go anywhere else. Have fun.
