Giving Advice?

Howdy,

While playing in a 2 person team, one person says to their teammate that he just played a 5 iron. It was clearly heard by the other team. Is that giving advice and is there a penalty? It's not match play, but combined score of each team determines the points for the hole.

If he's on your team, you can talk about whatever you want. And if you are playing by yourself and mention to your caddy about what club you played, unless purposely directed at your opponent to affect his club choice, you're fine.
