Detour

i heard that the detour didnt get very good reviews when it was released
i just switched to it from a red x and i thought the red x was sweet
also, i noticed that at golftown they must have over 15 detours on the shelf and only 1 blade style cameron left
personally, i dont like the blade camerons
does anyone else like the detour or prefer the blades?

I like then detour personally, I don't have one but have putted with from a friend. Funny I was playing with a pro last fall (top teaching pro ranked in Canada) and he told me he bought to help work with his students, liked the feel so much, he ended up playing with it. Not sure if its in the bag still but fired a +2 in the Players today.

yeah i like it more than any other putter i have used, hence why its in my bag
but it didnt get the best reviews and the only other person i know who had one got rid of it because he couldnt stand it
id suggest it to anyone

The detour is a much maligned putter. With the shape of putters these days (TM Spider etc) the shape isn't as hard to accept as it used to be when it first came out.

For me personally, the newport detour seems a much better fit as it combines the swing correction with my normal putter face.
