    handicapping an incomplete round

Im not sure what I'm supposed to do here. If I'm having a really good round and it gets to dark and 3 holes are left unfinished how do you cap the round? Does the dificulty of the last three holes change anything? I'm a 18.1 cap right now. Does it make a difference if you are playing well or poorly that round? I can't be expected to take a double on all remaining holes can I? That would seem unfair if I was hving the round of my life. Second question, if you get the chance to complete just those three holes the next morning, is this allowed? Can that round be posted?

As long as you complete at least 13 holes, you're ok (at least 7 to enter a 9 hole score, I think). For the unfinished holes, you take par plus whatever handicap strokes you would have received for that particular hole.

Your 18 cap means you would take bogey for the unfinished holes.

I think you can’t be an 18.1 HDCP. You probably have an 18.1 index. From there you need to convert your index with the slope and rating from the course you are playing to give you your course HDCP.

    Most confuse index and handicap.

And to add to the confusion in Canada it's a "Handicap Factor" (TM RCGA) and in the US it's a "Handicap Index" (TM USGA).
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!
