interlock vs overlap
I've always used an overlap grip since my father showed me the varden grip about 25 years ago. Unfortunately, whilst cutting up some avocados on monday night, I sliced into my left index finger (ouch!) up near the fingernail. The result is no way can I do the overlap (which has my left index under my right pinkie--I'm right handed) its too painful to swing. I have been testing the interlock, which just kind of abandons the left index out there, but it feels like there is a huge "hole" in a crucial part of the grip.
How do you interlockers do it? Just get used to it? I am pretty sure I'm going to find out this weekend...Andrew

I used Interlock originally, stopped playing for awhile and started up using the baseball grip. I have small hands and the other grips just don't feel like I have enough control of the club. I have tried both and couldn't get used to either. Have you thought about using this?
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I just switched back to the Interlock grip from the overlap grip and I find that it has helped me a LOT. Especially when it comes to my wrist cock - I'm not sure why, but it does.
It did feel odd at first, but after about 2/3 of a bucket of balls it felt like I've been using that grip my whole life

I've always prefered the interlock grip. May be a mental thing but if feels like I make better contact this way. Unfortunetly I use the overlap because with interlock I always get blisters on my 3rd finger. Me and my dishpan hands can't handle it. Interlock is better though in my opinion.

Yeah, you'll get used to it. What's your glove size?
If you have small hands or short fingers (small, medium or cadet size glove), you'll probably find the interlock works better for you. If your glove size is large or X-large, you'll probably prefer the overlap. With Medium-large regular, you could go either way. Of course, there are always exceptions!
Personally, I wear a medium or ML-Cadet and use interlock. Never could get used to an overlap grip - even when putting.

If I wore a glove it would be xl.
Unless the polysporin works a miracle, I'll be using the interlock Thursday night. I'm moderately worried that my good 'ole overlap will feel funny when I go back to it.Andrew

I can't wear a glove in the heat, I have never liked it. I'll tough it out. I did play last year with stitches in my right index finger... I am basically as hard as penitentiary steel.

Play left-handed till it heals.
Sucking at golf is it's own reward.
