What would you shoot if you had two shots each time?

For fun, my golfing buddy and I played 11 holes yesterday, and to mix it up we agreed to play against each other, but play two shots each time... even on the greens. We only had time for nine holes, but I'm curious what you think you'd shoot for a full 18 holes in this format?

BTW - I was -2 through 11 holes before we ran out of sunlight.

I'm going to give this a try one day. I'm sure I'd shoot better than -5. With all the putts I miss by a hair.....

if you want to try something else .... play the format 2 ball worst ball ... you always hit 2 balls but you go at the worst ball... that pratice your pressure shot ..... you become more consistent after a couple of pratice 9 hole with that format ...

No idea, I play a fair amount of "serious" golf and unfortunately play a provisional from time to time, and sometimes that second guy is reaaaaly good, other times he isn't very good at all. I think the biggest difference would be with putting, which as we all know is where you score so I am going to guess -2 +2

An interesting concept that maybe I'll try sometime... but I have NO idea what I might shoot.

I've always wanted to do this. I think I'd shoot an 80, which would be a record for me.

Depends on the day I'm having. I'm pretty sure I would be under par.

Gonna have to change my answer. After playing 2 balls today for a few holes and not doing a whole lot better I'd say I'd shoot somewhere in the 70's.

Probably somewhere in the 70's. Player B is outstanding.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Ok, so I usually shoot about 95... maybe on second shots I shoot 80, say. So I hit 95 + 80 = 175 strokes. Then, if I understand correctly, I get a stroke and distance penalty of 1 stroke each time I re-hit (better than the wrong ball at 2 strokes)... but wait, then I hit the other one again... so let's just call it wrong ball, 2 strokes. so probably another couple hundred strokes in wrong ball penalties or so, for a nice round 375, an average of about 21 strokes per hole. Ironically, that's my handicap - what could that mean?

If you're having a reasonable game on the course, which for me would be around 80-82, I'd have to be playing pretty bad to card a bogey. I'm an 11 handicap.

Funny, the day my buddy (a 9 handicap) and I did this, on the first hole, he got a 6 with the two ball format. It was hilarious!!!!! (for me).

I've played a two-partner worst ball format once before. That was fun! I was the weaker of the two golfers, so the pressure is always on the crappiest golfer. I'd imagine playing your own game with two balls playing the worst could get ugly.

I often play 2 balls on crappy days when there is no one around to play with. I usually shoot par with this format. I'm a 10 handicap. It is often that second putt that makes the score.

    Interesting. I'll try it sometime.
Pretty sure I'd play under par.

I've always joked that Michael B. would make money on tour.
