Well, shows I was wrong. But seriously, why on earth would he risk injuring his knee permanently for one major? Ya, I know he's a competitor, and he loves to win, but I always thought of him as smarter than that. To me, playing if his knee was as bad as it was was just plain idiotic. It's not like he was a hockey player in his first, and probably last, cup final. He's got years of his best golf ahead of him, and yet he made the decision to play on a serious injury? That, to me, is lunacy, and I would have expected a little more foresight from the man.

"My rehabilitation schedule after the arthroscopic surgery was designed with the goal of returning to play at the Memorial, but the stress fractures that were discovered just prior to the tournament unfortunately prevented me from participating and had a huge impact on the timing for my return," Woods said.

"I was determined though, to do everything and anything in my power to play in the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, which is a course that is close to where I grew up and holds many special memories for me. Although I will miss the rest of the 2008 season, I'm thrilled with the fact that last week was such a special tournament."

No, no no!! I can't believe so many people are still getting sucked in by Tiger's evil, diabolical plan!!

Oh sure, he'll tell us that some fake doctor at a fake hospital performed some fake surgery on his fake knee and take a some time off for some fake "rehabilitation". You know who I feel for with all of this... the commentators. Tiger gets to sit around with Elin all weekend, while the Johnny and the boys have to actually come up with something insightful now. I expect that they'll probably drift off into obscurity from time to time and probably critique some old guy in the gallery who decided to sport the work socks with sandals that day.

Silly, you might have to get on the horn with NBC and CBS and see if they need someone to keep the conversation going during Tigers recovery.
