Membership - Newmarket Area

I'll be moving to Newmarket in the fall, and I'd like to join a course in the area. Driving 30 to 40 minutes is not a problem. Reasonable membership and cart rates are a must combined with an active membership. Your suggestions would be appreciated. Don't bother suggesting Clublink. The costs are too high and I'm not interested in shelling out thousands for an initiation fee.

Mike, I played this course: http://www.golfharbourview.com/welcome.html when I was in the area last year. It is very reasonably priced, esp. for anything in that area/ Fun course, I enjoyed it.

A lot of nice courses around Newmarket and Aurora but they are still very pricey compared to Ottawa. For more reasonable rates I would look farther north towards Barrie and Lake Simcoe.

The Toronto Golf Show is usually in early March at the Metro Convention Centre and a lot of the Barrie area courses are there. If you haven't decided by then, you might want to go.
