Intersectional Qualifying Methods
Just curious about two things regarding your clubs method of qualifying a team.
1. Do you use Stableford points, medal scores etc.? Number of rounds?
2. Do you permit players to qualify at times other than those prescribed by the organizer? That is, if some cannot play on a particular day/time, is he permitted to play on another day or at a different time?
For our club:
1. Best two of three rounds, Stableford points.
2. No.

Madawaska uses the best two out of three stableford scores. Two the rounds are Field Days and the third is another day of your choosing. I'm not sure if the additional day is restricted to weekends or not. I do know that I played an additional qualifying round yesterday (Saturday). The player has to announce his intention ahead of time, sign the tally sheet and have his signature witnessed by an appropriate member of the club. The round must be played according to the rules of the competition and the score duly verified.

For Metcalfe:
1. Best two of three rounds, Stableford points.
2. Generally No. There are 5 days you can pick to play from (3 weekend, 2 weekday) so they usually don't, but exceptions have been made.
The points we use are, 5 for eagle, 3 for birdie, 2 for par, and 1 for bogey. Curious to see what other clubs use.
What is the actual points system in the original Stableford format?

We use best two of three and you have to qualify on the dates set out by the commitee.
As for our format, we use 3 pts for eagle, 2 for birdie, 1 for par, 0 for bogey and -1 for double or higher."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." M.Pare 10/09/08

For Tecumseh : we use 3 best out of 5 rounds , stableford 4 pts=eagle 3 pts=birdie 2 pts=Par 1=boguey 0= double boguey or worst
and we did not allow player to play on another day
2 spots are already gone ... last year club champion and last year match play champion
