Right now I am 95.7, but come end of June I hope to get it down to 85-88. Just need to controll my shots off the tee with the driver, and stop losing balls when I shouldn't. My up and down is getting pretty good in my last 2 rounds....

LOL.... ah we'll see what happens !

As of yesterday 92.6----it's those 5 or 6 rediculous swings that's screwing me up---also known as "brain farts" I keep saying to myself "if only". "You knew the ball was teed too high but you didn't fix it"----"you should have just punched it into the fairway but you tried a Philly"------"you did not allow for the sidehill/downhill lie"--oh well--next time That's why we keep coming back
    Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

I am currently around 85-89 just because I haven't been able to play too much this year. Hoping to get into that 79-84 band.

Index is still at 3.5 from my hot finish to last year, but my scoring average is 81 so far this year. I'm sure it will come down, my average for last year was 74 or 75. something. I'd have to double check.

These are quite interesting stats! and I played so well today but those damn brain farts! I need to find out how to knock those 4 or 5 strokes per round thats hurting me. It seems like I cant keep my focus on every shot!!! one thing that helps is i have been rwriting T.O.E.S to mark my ball. (Try on every shot)

Here is my current card with 2 more rounds to enter as of tomorrow! What would be a good / proper time for me to start using the ESC ?? Now please take into consideration I'm trying to build a handicap for the first time ever, not just this season.

You should ALWAYS use ESC when posting scores for handicap purposes.

so far this year I'm having a bad year. Started as a 20 handicap and now up to 22.5.

    12 rounds played
    score average this year: 99.7
    score average: 96.6
Lowest round this year: 89 @ Emerald Links
    Lowest factor: 15.8
Highest round this year: 109 @ Manderley

UGH... but its all going to turn around starting..... now.

Average so far 88.5, 8 rounds played. Handicap still 14.5. Goal this year is to get to 10 but that's probably not realistic since I don't seem to have much time for practise or lessons. Best round this year 83 at Cloverdale Links. If only I could consitently hit the fairway off the tee with driver or 3 wood I feel I'd drop my cap to 10 in no time. Oh well.

Started the year at a 3.5 and I've only been able to move it up to a 4.2. I expect that to change in the next few weeks with a lot of low differentials coming out of the counting rounds.

That being said, after my round at Dragonfly in a solid wind on Saturday, I feel that low numbers could easily start popping up if I manage the course a little better. I was even through 12 and a couple errand shots resulted in a quad and a couple doubles coming in. With some smarter club selection on those holes it could have easily been a 73-74 rather than an 80.

Well, I started the year with a bang and shot my lowest of 86. Hurt my back during that round and for the next while played miserably. It all culminated in hitting two Sh*nks on the 18 fairway of Canadian and picking up my ball and walking the rest of the way in disgust.

But now, I am hitting the ball better than I have ever hit it and feel like I can start going lower, if I can keep my brain focused a bit better.

good to hear rez...im also working on my concentration. Losing all the brain farts can help you lose some key strokes.

I have been writing TOES on my ball lately and it seems to help. Try On Every Shot

Index back up to 13. Scoring around 86 from ~6000yds on average. Fairways <40%. Greens around 50%. Number of putts soaring and around 34 per round. Up and downs probably averaging in the 30% range.

Overall my game was OK early in the spring, then my ball striking went for a dump but my short game got much better. Now I am starting to hit the ball better but my putting has gone south (and short game a little shaky again).

Thanks Bouche. As a higher handicapper, the challenge will be to keep the package together. More consistency.

I do have a feeling that by the end of the year I will probably be able to call myself a mid handicapper though. My goal is something in the 13-14 range and I can see that.

I'm at a lowly 21 or so... but I managed to tear my swing to pieces and start from scratch in the last year and a half, and didn't lose ground - my short game was crap and I still held on, so my swing work is paying off.... As with all others who shoot in the nineties, consistency is my problem, the pointless lost balls from the tee, and the endless what if's as I continue to shoot 50-42 and the like... I also have the sporadic loss of focus problem, coupled with the "Maybe if I swing so hard I almost fall down, that would work. Yeah! Why didn't I think of that earlier?"
