Sad news. I think he was going to be a solid d-man. It's never nice seeing something like this happen..
My name is Paul. And I'm a golfaholic.

yup, i was really upset to hear that. I saw the pics of the bike and knew right away that he died. I thought it was local news and then later I realized it was him. I was surprised to learn that alot of NHL contracts don't have biking banned like they do in the NFL and NBA.

It's sad to see another hockey player die of an accidental death such as a crash. I don't think they are going to make any changes to the contracts. It's just a risk Luc chose to take. Too bad faith wasn't on his side.

after this accident I wouldn't be surprised if all NHL teams has these "danger" clauses in the contracts. No rock climbing, not sky diving, no motor bikes... if you get injured doing any of the activities on the restricted list the team has the right to terminate your contract.

While I tend to agree with Silly, I will suggest out of respect for the late Mr. Bourdon that we start a new thread to discuss the merits of including "Danger Clauses" in pro contracts.

It is sad to see such a promising career and life ended so suddenly and for no good reason at all........
