changing a putter insert
I have a mallet putter that I like, but not the feel of the insert. Is there a way to replace the insert? Or to change the feel of the present insert. thx

Bruce,
I am not sure what type of putter you have but I have an Odyssey 2-ball XG and I had read of a mod where people were filling the back cavity behind the insert with resin.
I suspect you have to contact the putter manufacturer to find out if they can sell you a different insert though.

I'm not sure you could do it yourself. The biggest problem would be getting any new insert material flat.
If you are willing to sacrifice the putter you could give it a try though. What kind of putter is it?Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

insert
its a shoe-me putter - company was small and went under but the putter itself is an ingenious design. I like everything about it, but the insert I wish was a bit more responsive - just feels a bit dead. Trying for the odyssey feel I guess.
More than willing to experiment if someone has an idea.Last edited by brucestats; 05-29-2008 at 08:59 PM. Reason: spell
