Myrtle Beach courses
Has anyone golfed at Crown Park, Farmstead or Meadowlands?
if you have I would like to hear your opinion.

Farmstead is decent, not a blow you away type of course but a good course that won't break the bank - fairly open, and quite playable. Meadowlands is a notch below, ok, but it's been awhile since I have played there. haven't played Crown Park.
what's your budget and what type of courses are you looking for? I have played most in the north and can probably point you in the right direction based on value, etc. I just got back 2 weeks ago from MB. Played Arrowhead, Rivers Edge, Oyster Bay, Long Bay and Tidewater.I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I would like to keep it under $50 a round and in the north.
I am staying with friends that live in North Myrtle Beach so I want to stay close.
I have played long bay and Aberdeen last year and liked them. I played black bear the year before and thought it too was nice but did not have a great experience as the course had been flooded and was not quite dried out yet.
Long bay is definitely on the list of this year again but I am looking to fill the other 3 spots.
Any opinion with details would be appreciated.

Farmstead and Meadowlands a good average courses, Crown Park is below average. If you're staying in North Myrtle Beach and budget is an issue, I would suggest the 3 Sea Trail courses, The Pearl, The Cats (Lion's Paw and Panther's Run). A step up would be River's Edge, Oyster Bay, Barefoot, Tidewater, Glen Dornoch, Leopard's Chase, Tiger's Eye and as you mentioned Long Bay.

I would go with EDSGolf's recommendations. He has booked our last three years in MB and we were not disappointed. As far as "the Cats" go, having played Tiger's Eye three times and Lion's Paw just this past April it is a no-brainer... go to Tiger's Eye. May be a little over your budget, but well worth it. It's only money.

You might want to check out Thistle and Carolina National as well. I just played Lion's Paw a week ago and it didn't seem to me to be in very good shape. Tiger's Eye as noted was much better and a lot of fun. Somebody also mentioned Arrowhead - to me that course was like playing in my upstairs hall! I found it very claustrophobic; the houses are so close to the fairways.
