Golf Lessons - West End

Hi Guys

I came to a conclusion that I definitively need some good lessons (either by Pro or one of you if you are willing). On average I shoot about 105 and would like to get way bellow 100. Can you recommend a good instructor who can give me some pointers

mato, first off, I'd set your goals in smaller increments. Starting right off hoping to shoot well below 100 is not an easy goal to accomplish. You are already shooting around 100 which is rather good to begin with.

I'd treat this like you were hiring somebody for a job. Go around and "interview" some instructors. Find someone you are comfortable with and feel you can talk to. But be patient. Lessons are not an overnight fix. It will take many hours of engraining the new techniques your instructor teaches. If you work and practice hard you'll be seeing great results.

I know my technique is not the greatest (ie stand,hand position etc) and I have quite a massive slice. I know it can be fixed with a proper lessons but as Geoff mentioned it'll take some time . I just want to get the proper instructions what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong.I'd be happy if I can shoot in the 95-98 range on more frequent basis

I'm no teacher "mato" but the guys here mentioned a few things a couple of years ago in these threads---"don't try and do too much all at the same time" Take one aspect only--find out how to correct that and move to the next---- only after you have mastered the first one. It takes time repair mistakes and bad habits. I reached a plateau 2 years ago and can't seem to consistantly go lower----won't take a lesson now because the instructer will tell me to start from scratch I don't have that much time left I shoot in the 90 to 93 range; but I could just imagine saying "oh--most of the time around 85" It will never happen but I can dream: and it's not going to make any difference in the long run unless Tiger asks for a game

The Danielle Nadon group offers lessons at Loch March. I'm very pleased with my results with her (at T-to-Green) over the last 2 winters.

I hear that Warren Grant is teaching part time out of Greenesmere! I think he is pretty good, starting with basics, then working from there! A good base is never a bad thing.

Greg Foley. He is very good at keeping it basic...which in my eyes is the easiest way to learn for both beginners and advaced players. I have heard many good things from people that have seen him as well as with my game.

seriously, give him a try. He is really good. Oh, when he puts your hand in your pocket and pulls your pocket out... don't worry. He does that to everyone LOL

Helps with firing the hips... not really sure why indio was doing it to hacker last week though

download leadbetter videos, go to google type in utorrent download the application, then go to isohunt.com type in leadbetter and get is videos depending on your connection you may have to leave your cpu on overnight. There's many torrent providers you can then use for any movies, videos, porn whatever you desire.

But first you'll get a good understanding of golf fundementals. Personally I like Leadbetter cause of how simple and how his instructions can be applied to any golfer, and i can practice is drills in my living room. I picked up a few drills in the full swing video, but mainly gained a better understanding of the short game in his short gane videos. Give it a go its free.

Hey Guys,

What about Centre-West locations that are easy to get to after work (downtown). Chateau Cartier or Champlain? Anyone have any experience with the instructors at either of these? Partner and I have taken last season off of golf, and just need some refresher lessons...
