I may have missed this in the off season, but what happened to Barry Bonds? I guess his legal issues got the best of him? Looks like Aaron's HR record is safe.

He already beat Aaron's homerun record last year. He'd like to play again, but no one wants anything to do with him. If the Jays, after releasing Thomas and with no lefty power at all, weren't interested, nobody will be.

I don't follow it that closely but from what I have read no team is willing to sign him.

There is some debate as to whether there is collusion (hard to prove) between the GMs/owners to keep him out of the game or whether everyone simply feels that he is a cancer in the clubhouse and simply not worth the effort even though he will probably still be able to produce.

Wait until the injuries start piling up and the pennant races get going. Then somebody will pick him up.

perhaps hes pulling a niedermayer or selanne and is just waiting to keep a teams cost down (but since theres no real cap in MLB thats not very likely).
