Hi everyone, just joined so thought I would introduce myself. Had planned on golfing today, but would you believe there is snow on the ground in North Vancouver

Thanks for the welcome! Oh, and FYI, it's melting and will be able to golf this afternoon! Since snow here is rare, may I say that golfing here is pretty much year round

ty ty.....NVM and i were happy to come across a "canadian" golf forum. just wish there was a "western canada" thread. all the ones we have seen up to now were "american".....nothing against our neighbours to the south, but nice to be here nevertheless
just came back from our local 9 hole course gleneagles.......what a beautiful day for golf, sun shining, snow covered mountains on one side of us, ocean on the other....doesn't get much better then that
did i mention the snow lasted on the ground about an hour.......

Global TV reported 24 cm (close to 10 inches) in Nanaimo. Was -10 deg C this morning in the central interior. With the moderate wind, it's even chillier.
It doesn't look like the local golf courses will be open anytime soon.

I always hated that crazy uphill hole at Gleneagles #3 I believe, glad you got out after the snow. Welcome to the forum.

we're having very weird weather,it's the opposite of El Nino...errr,*googles*..La Nina. for example, last Saturday was 22C. i thought summer was here, wrong! i have some pics of the little golf trip we took last weekend during that perfect weather. we took a little ferry ride (with car) over to Bowen Island, a small island about 20 minutes off the coast. take a look, HERE
btw, the first pic is a near ace, arrrrrggg! haha,i'll get one one of these days.

Crazy weather we're getting out here. Went to the library in shorts and flip-flops yesterday, and ended up making a run for the bus as the hail came down around me. Pretty wild weather. It's not all that cold, but I think mother nature is getting revenge for that round of golf that I had in February.
