Usually very nice greens but wear a helmet ... it can be a bit of a shooting gallery ...

The Slammer Tour is having its first local event at MC this Saturday. My info as of earlier today is that Slammers will be playing the back nine twice. Read into that as you wish!!
I'm on night shift so by the time I got the event e-mail it was filled up so I won't be out there playing this weekend.
As for the shooting gallery comment, search for a thread from last year that went through all of that. What is this... the third year that the course is under new ownership? They've been working hard at making it more difficult to bomb all over the place. A few new tee decks for blues, a huge waste bunker between #1 and #9 (though left of #9 is OB so nobody goes there, right!!), a stupid pond on the far right side of #17 so you can't cut the corner and drop the ball 20-30yds short of the green (damn - I loved that shot), lots of new mounding to help contain holes a bit better, more trees (though they'll take years before they do anything about stopping stray balls!)...
Long story short, as the months turn to years, that course will still be a bit short, balls will stray onto other fairways (but that's hardly unique), but its character will keep changing and the improvements will start punishing people who THINK they can just grip and rip without consequence.
I play about 20 rounds there a year... some of the changes have forced me to change the way I approach a few of the holes.

But---you have to admit----one of the best priced courses for what you get in the valley Worth the drive.
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

I heard they only have 9 holes open, does anyone know if their spring special of $20 is for just the 9 holes or twice around those 9 holes? Might be going there Sunday morning.

I usually play there once or twice a year but if I had my choice i'd play Pakenham 5 times before playing MC.

just played Mc.....A little wet but to be expected. It was suprisingly very dry overall but the grass is very limited meaning you might want to resist using your lob wedge as much as possible. Greens are extremely slow and they were recently punched so its a bumpy road to the hole. The back nine is the only nine open right now. there is some snow in certain areas but i would say no more then 5 patches (1 bunker full of snow, one fairway-at the front, back of a par 3 and I think I saw another snow mound by a tee box) which I imagine will be gone by the weekend. Cheap golf...it was only 20$ flat. It was nice to be on the course again. And I managed four birdies on the front nine!!! WOOOO. Oh ya no par 5's. Par 68 and EXTREMELY short
