Playing from different tees...
Can you have a valid cap if you play from different tees all the time? Sometime white, blue and this? What if you wanted to play from the womens tees. Can you legally play from there and still count the round for your cap? The slope and rating I'm sure is lower so I thinking that might ballance it out if you did play from there, you would hve to go pretty low. Any thoughts, rules?

You have a valid handicap regardless of which tees you play from. You can legally play from whatever tees you want.

To clarify, if the tees you are playing from have a valid men's slope and rating then you count the score.

so if a man were to play from the ladies tees, he couldn't count that correct? What if a women with an average HCP, who is long (but not as long as the average made with an average hcp) and only one slope and rating is given... how is her HCP calculated since obviously the slope and rating for her hsould be higher than that because of her length (lack of)

The same rules apply, i.e. there has to be a valid rating/slope for the women.
Depending on the course they will often have ratings for both men and women for the same tee box.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

The courses are rated from each set of tees and if it's rated for the men from the reds you can play there and count the score. The slope and rating will be lower and therefore reflect your course handicap from that tee box. Each course has an RCGA course rating sheet that you can check against your handicap factor.

oh, can you give me an example of a couse that does that? I've never seen that before. I'd love to see a score card and see waht the difference is in slope and rating between men and women from the same tee box

Stonebridge is one. They don't rate the Black tees for women.

I know at Greensmere the ladies have a rating from at least the red and white and possibly black but I don't think it got rated for the gold. I was involved for a few years doing the measuring of courses to be rated and when we did it we always did a distance for the red tees.
