    Wishon wedges

Do Cx Wishon wedges really bite more?

I found I got a little more holding power into greens when I tried some last year. But nothing extreme.

I liberated those wedges from Geoff and I would tend to agree. I didn't really see any more noticeable spin.

One thing that might be a factor is that in wet/grassy conditions the extra grooves should give more spin since they should be able to channel more water away.

Did you guys find the zero bounce heel feature useful?

I definitely like the sole grind. I never used to be comfortable opening up my wedges before and find it's not a problem at all with the CX Micros.

I put together a CX Micro 58* before I went down south. As others mentioned a bit more spin than a regular wedge but not a lot. The 0 bounce heel is cool as I like to open up a lot on touch shots. I found the Wishon good out of the sand as well. I actually like the feel of Maltby M-series (both softness and weight distribution) the best but the Wishon seems to be slightly more effective hence it is now in the bag as my "lob" wedge. Still using the Maltby as my 53* wedge.

I also have SMT Duromters and the milling is more aggressive. On all wedges I don't find much difference between spin milled and regular off tight lies where the ball is pinched. However out of the rough where the club slides under the ball more the SMTs were incredible by how much spin they could still put on the ball. However I never could get used to the feel (setup and weight distribution) of the SMTs.

The one problem I have with spin milled is I find the amount of spin you get tends to vary a lot. Obviously there is a lot of "operator error" involved but I found them frustrating at times. This is the main reason why I went away from spin milled on the 53*.
