    Golf Domes

    Hi,

Has anybody tried the golf domes in the west end (Franklin or KH Bell Center)? Is it worth hitting balls in either of them?

Franklin is excellent. I hit balls there 2 or 3 days a week and it's 65 yards of ball flight. Nice Srixon balls. Brand new facility. Hard to beat that in the winter.
Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

Good. When are the hours, or how do I get a hold of them?

Thanks Dan. It looks like they are open until April 18th (at least) and KH is closed for the season.

Understood Kevin mentioned on his radio show a couple of weeks back that he was ready to have the snow cleared from the range, but because the ground is not frozen the machinery would sink. Too bad, because he definetely would have been open on an April 1st 12 C sunny afternoon............

Doubt it, there would still be too much snow surrounding the target greens.

If there was a way Kevin would open he would do it. This late March/early April is when KH has the placed packed. Cars parked on the road, and people will wait over an hour just to hit a bucket.

You saying you wouldnt be out there if he was open??

I'm sure if he could be open, he would be and would get as many people hitting balls until they ran out of balls.

Exactly !!! Geoff would be at KH along with almost everyone on this forum. The others would be at 19th tee........

    Not bad

Went to the Superdome (Franklin Dome) this morning. Not too bad. It was fairly long for an indoor facility. You could see the ball move and pulls or pushes showed up. I'll probably go back again before winter ends.

I have been at KH's early in the season quite a bit and a few years back he paid someone to come in and plow the range. It was perfect, greens were cleared and everything, just a large snow bank to the left. But like he said they wouldn't be able to because of the ground being so saturated.

I heard today that the front-end loader that was about to clear the snow from the range had sunk due to the parking lot caving in..
    Anybody hear that?

Drove by KH about an hour ago. Did notice some wooden barriers in the parking lot which had not seen on previous occasions. Perhaps there is a "sink hole" in the parking lot.

Still snow covered on the range. No sign of any snow removal as previously discussed.

With a forecast of mainly sunny 12-13 C on Saturday and Sunday would not want to guess how much $$$$$$$ our friend Kevin is losing out on..........
