Got mine too.
Once again this year my fabulous swing has made the cut for inclusion into the photo highlights for the Open tournament.
In case you can't tell from the action on my follow through (I'm in the picture on the bottom) I am working a wedge to a tight pin on the front of #10. I am quite impressed with my form.
I was less impressed when the ball landed short and bounced into the hazard. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

For the "B", do you need proof of handicap?
Thanks

does it say what day the b open is? I can't seem to find the specific day, just the week.

Am I reading this right, for the "B", if you've won the Open "B" in the last two year you are NOT allowed to compete? Why is that? Why are you not allowed to defend? Or does the "B" winner automatically get moved into the Open division?

That's how I read it, i.e. if you have won B or made the cut in Open you have to play in the Open.
Seems fair to me.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I think they are trying to discourage sandbagging or someone winning the event over and over. That being said, last year the scores were quite close and I am not sure as a 12+ cap I'd want to compete against the likes of the A pool talent. Of course I would have to win the event first to worry about that.

So the top 20 from last year can register beginning March 15, (with the exception of the winners?) everyone else has to wait until April 15th, and they've changed the 'B' class to a 2 round event. Personally I'd like proof of handicap to be required for the B class. This was a good event last year.

For both players combined?

I'm pretty sure that is each players handicap.

So for the teams do you register individually and get assigned a partner or do you have to find a partner then register?

top 18 teams in the open B move to play at Eagle Creek on the Sunday. The 18 teams that move on also get a Executive Golf Membership for 2009.

Does anyone know when the tee times get posted?
BTW, they had 10 spots for those who wanted to qualify at Eagle Creek and the top team shot a 66.... A team made up of 12+ HDCP'ers!!!

They were not 12+ handicappers. If you check out the RCGA Handicap site they are at 9.7 and 11.3 I believe. I wanted to say something but did not want to be a poor sport before teeing off that day. Secondly I was not sure what the restrictions were for the OPEN B since it does not say on the website. Lucky for me and my partner we qualified but it looked ugly at first being +4 after the first four holes.

If im not mistaken these guys where playing right behind me and where bombing the ball 290+ in the fairway all day at the qualifier. Good on them for going low but really should have been playing for the open. Oh well. Me and my budy qualified so not to much to gripe about here.
Good luck to all in the Tourny. Should be alot of fun.

Interesting. I could have sworn there was a minimum HDCP for open B. But it seems to no longer be there.
Does this mean anyone could compete in open B?

Me and my partner shot the 66 and yes we are both B by definition. The 11.3 is my partners index from last year so it is not current (btw, a 11.3 index is a 12 handicap from the whites at Eagle and Le Sorcier - both have a slope of 123). The 9.7 certainly isn't me - I don't even know where Kenogemisis (?) is. The 66 was a pleasant surprise - our goal was to shoot par. On our own balls on the weekend we shot 88 and 86 respectively at a different course. Each of our scoring averages is comfortably in the 83-100 range and I will ask our club captain to print off a complete current list of this seasons scores which will be endorsed and given to the organizers.
