Titleist 2008 AP2 and ZB irons
For those of you that visit golfwrx.com site, check out the pics of the new 2008 Titleist lineup of irons. They are getting some very mixed reviews. Very different look coming from Titleist.

Can't say I'm a fan of either design.
I'll wonder what our our resident Titleist experts think. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

In my opinion, the AP2's look like the 700 Series a bit dressed up and the ZB's look like the Z-Muscle they already had in the MB and CB series with a bit a flare. Not that much of a difference if you ask me.

I like the ZB's but the AP2's are to Nikeish for my taste. There is a reason why I haven't gone with any of the lastest Titleist clubs, they seem to be getting away from the classic design. I think the next I get well probably be Mizuno unless Titleist brings something new out without the flash.

i think the ap2's are more of a forgiving club for the higher handicap such as myself which im really looking forward to trying out. infact if anybody got the new golf digest hot list on page 151 they talk about them "..but the company is also targeting average players with the ap1 and ap2 irons. the ap1 is easily the most user friendly entry since the old dtr." im excited for them just dont want to have to sell my first born for them!!!

I agree the AP2 is a very different look but if they fel like any of Titleist's recent offerings they'll probably be a winner. Now the new macgregor irons pics on Golf Wrx are very impressive.

Those AP2 irons look like Nike's CCI.

hmm? I never noticed the resemblance before but very similar to the nikes. I think that titleist is just trying to accommodate high handicappers after years of only catering to 'players'. Its like their version of my callaway fusions.
I actually think they look interesting."Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual"

The Titleist rep was in our store today with the new irons and the new scotty putter. The AP2 looks sweet and feels sweet (my favorite out of them all). The AP1 is basically their first game inprovement iron geared towards the mid-high handicaper. The AP2 is is a players iron (Adam Scott's using them) and definitely has some new technology never seen before in a titleist iron. It will retail higher than the ZM and ZB. I still think the 695's look and feel better than the ZM and ZB. The new scotty looks awesome too, and I'm guessing will be very popular.

I had a chance to hit the new offerings from Titleist last night.
The AP1 was what Titleist needed to jump into the more forgiving iron category.
The AP2 was pretty nice, but still feels "clicky" and not very soft.
The ZM's and ZB's are nice looking in person, but there's that "clicky" feeling to them that Titleist has been known for.
I'm not sure if I'd bag any of these this season.

Are they clicky like the 735's or clicky like the 695's? I think the ZB's look pretty good and I like the idea of a combo set. I'd have to hit beside my 690's because I don't find them clicky, not when hit center.
