Fantasy Golf League
Dan, has anyone else noticed that the past 3 or 4 weeks of the fantasy golf league have been won by non-players?
The latest winner hasn't entered a team since the 3rd week of the season, the Phoenix Open.
Somehow that doesn't quite seem fair, as players are being rewarded for not playing..
I have been considering removing players inactive for 30 days in 2004. Any thoughts?

Didn't you finish behind some-one in Nova Scotia a couple of weeks ago??
Why would somebody like that enter all the "free" pools around the continent?? Do they not look at what they might win?
Of course, the rest of us look a little foolish since the winning team this week only had three guys playing. Didn't we all like our teams last Thursday?? :reallymad
A 30-day cut-off is a little steep. I might go an around the world golf cruise & forget my laptop....
Dan, any official dates for the golf show yet?? Just planning a possible Carribean trip...

A 30 day cut off seems fair. That is 4 or 5 tournaments. Who can afford a 30 day trip nowadays anyway??

Does it really matter?
It's not like any work has to be done here. It's all electronic and the GStat guys put in the winning dollar amounts.
Or does it bother some people that someone's picks from the start of the season beat them? I think it just adds more administrative overhead for nothing.
And if a guy from out of town wins the prize, maybe he has someone in town to give them to?It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Nothing to add to that.
I've spent most of my life golfing .... the rest I've just wasted"

For what it's worth, I say let them stay. If we can't beat someone who sticks with a team for the entire season, then do we really deserve to win? The random chance of someone having success over one or two weekends is just that - random. In the end, they are not likely to perform well over the long haul. And if they do, then maybe we had better abandon strategies based on logic and good sense to those founded on pure chance. As for logic, it doesn't seem to have gotten me into the top 10 --- as yet. Hope (the foundation virtue of all golfers) springs eternal, though.

Luck
This week's winner has not made a pick since week 24 of the schedule. Once again we got beat by blind luck! You've gotta love this game.
