    Hello from the UK!

    Hello to all....I followed a link in another forum(TCC) that landed me here. I have to say that so far, it's a nice place to be!
    I'm here to soak up the info about golf in the eastern region, so if anyone wants to offer advice, feel free, it'll always be welcome!

    My name is Liam, and I have the sickness we call golf !!

    I am in the UK but will be moving into the Napanee area in May of this year. Obviously I hope to make a few friends while on here and hopefully some of you guys can point me in the direction of the must play venues in the area. Not too tough though!

    Unfortunately you will be a little bit closer to Toronto than Ottawa, Kingston will likely be your golf HQ. I do not know many of the excellent courses available to you in that area, but my favourate in the Napanee area is Timber Ridge in Brighton. You are going to Golf Heaven in May.

    How did you come to move from the UK to Napanee, family there? Maybe you're a huge Avril Lavine fan? Either way, welcome to the site, hope you enjoy it. Lots of TCC guys on here too.

    We live in a small, semi-rural area in the UK and wanted something similar for the new life in Ontario. We had a look around the area last spring when visiting friends in Burlington, looked at Belleville, Kingston, The 'County' and figured that w'd check out Napanee as it seemed a good locaton and equal(ish) distance to Belleville/Kingston for finding work. Really liked it there and so thats where we are headed.

    I have an 8 year old daughter, Georgia, who is a big Avril fan, so she's pretty excited at that connection even though she knows that Avril isn't there anymore. Lifes just so simple when you're 8!!
    Also have a 6 yr old, Wil, who is loving his golf too!

    I just checked out the Timber Ridge site and it's still all the '07 end of season blurb, but I noticed a thread on here about TR so I just posted a couple of Q's on there.

    Hey there are some very nice courses in the Kinston/Belleville area. Loyalist in Kinston is great. And Black Bear Ridge, Trillium wood are must plays in Belleville!

    Welcome to Canada and to this region in particular. You'll find the people friendly and the golf courses plentiful. This site is evidence of that.

    You'll be right done the road from me (I'm in Belleville). Lots of great course in the area. Loyalist is only about 5 minutes east of Napanee. Picton south west. Trillium and Black Bear in Belleville.
    Tell your daughter that Avril does stop around home from time to time. When she's there the whole town knows.

    I should have updated this earlier but...better late than never!
    Well we're here in Napanee and have been since May '08 and I have to say, we are loving it!

    I've been fortunate enough to meet some of the guys on here at last years canadian cameron get together at niagara and what a great bunch of guys they are too.

    Cheers guys for the welcome. Hopefully this year i'll actually be able to get out and play a bit more and see some of you out on the courses.
