Wow,they must have posted that today. Pretty tough line-up. Not sure if being hungover for Loch March after Intersectionals is a good thing or not.....;-) Didn't work in my favour last year, can't see this year being any different...

Going to be tough for those playing in the Tunis/Kent/Intersectionals/Citizen...

    6-7 Tunis, 9th Citizen, 11,12 Kent, 13 Inters ,14 Citizen...ouch

Garth you missed 2 events for the month of July ...Jly 2 OVGA 4 Ball, 6-7 Tunis, 9th Citizen, 11-12 Kent, 13 Intersectionals, 14 Citizen, 17-19 Quebec Am.

By my count that is 11 competition days out of 18 plus travel, and work. Some guys have some choices to make. The Kent is a really good event and a good trip to Quebec City. Tough drive home for Intersectionals the next day after spending 3 days in QC.

Think the snow will be gone by then?

A little further than Montreal this year, kinda in the middle of no where.

Back to the topic, I actually really like the line up for this years Citizen. Stonebdg is fine when we have played it in the Citizen, but I don't see what the big deal about it is. I can think of 10 other courses we have played that should be ahead of it in the rotation. Talked to some of the fellas, and they are quite pleased as well, scores should be really good for the 4 rounds total on these tracks. Gonna have to play well to keep advancing.

    Has it stopped snowing yet?

No and if this continues they will surely delay the May 12 spring open.

I was thinking playing the Spring Open but spring is not going to favor my game and practicing time will be too short for me to perform. The citizen will be my amateur tourney berth. For once it does not overlap my summer family vacation. I should be there. All I’m waiting are the confirmed dates.

    You?

Yeah I am definately playing, haven't missed it in 4 years.

For those that haven't seen it yet the application was in today's Citizen.

I just checked and it's not on Flagstick yet but I did receive a soft copy via email which I have attached.

Time to resurrect this thread now that the field is posted.

By my count the field for the men was ~134, so it was not a full field. This means no one is allowed to complain about not getting in because someone fudged their index!

I recognized a few names from the forum on the list so post away if you're in.

My goal this year is to make the 36-hole cut after stinking it up with the flat stick last year. Of course this year I am putting much better but I'm not nearly as consistent off the tee and from the fairway as last year. Hopefully that will turn around before July.

I'll predict the cut line as 162.

I'm in as well. Hoping not to repeat my T-4 after round 1 to "needing to birdie the last to make the cut" performance of last year. Actually, my goal is to make the cut with my stretch objective being to try to make the 3rd round cut.

I'll be interested to see how they setup the courses. For example, will they use the back tees on all the par 3's at Loch March? And, if they do, will they have drop areas? I'm also curious if they'll use the back tee on that ridiculously long par 3 at Talon.

They used the Marshes for the Citizen once before right? Does anyone know if they played the back tees for that round? I'm planning to play a round there today and I'm wondering if I should give the tips a try.

    Good luck to everyone entered!

I love the confidence my friend. But you better be prepared to go at least one, if not two, rounds under par to win this. Bussiere and McGee will be doing that, and these are the two guys that have been battling it out for the top spot the last two years.

If I recall the last Loch March setup it was pretty much from the tips all around and yes the drop areas were in play on 7 and 13.

As for the Marshes (5 years ago?) it played LONG. Could have been the 30k wind all day out of the North but who knows.... 15 at Talon will probably play somewhere around 210-220yds, not quite the back but pretty close.

I saw Al on the list but I don't think Bussiere is playing this year.

Probably choosing to concentrate on the Tunis/Kent/Quebec Amateur which are right around the same time.

I generally agree with that sentiment, but it needs to be tempered with reality.

In my case I would have to play seriously over my head (currently at 7.4) to have a chance at winning a 4 day tournament. In fact if it were to happen my handicap would most certainly have the "Exceptional Tournament Score" reduction applied to it.

This would be a good problem to have of course.

Pretty decent swag bag this year:

    White Adidas ClimaCool golf shirt
3 Pro V1's (Citizen Amateur logo)
A nice ball mark repair tool, ball marker, teeing order determiner doo-dad.
    New rule book
    Bag of tees

I'm not sure the shirt is really my style. Or, perhaps I should just say I don't think I have the ideal body type to pull it off. I'm sure Sergio would look great in it though.

In any case, I'd say there's probably at least $75-ish worth of loot. Kudo's to the Citizen organizers.

Did you want to lend me a few yards of distance? That would certainly help me out.

You can pick the swag bag up anytime this week at the Citizen.

Take the yardages as "estimates", they've been way off in the past.
